Sources of Funding

The Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) receives funding from a number of sources.  Below is a list of the agency's current grants and funding sources along with a brief description of how the funds from each grant are used.

• Older Americans Act, Title III, Title V, and Title VII Grants

  The Older Americans Act provides funding for home and community-based services; the Long-Term Care Ombudsman program; the Senior Community Service Employment Program; elder rights protection; the Delaware Senior Medicare Patrol Program; health promotion activities; caregiver support programs; training and development; advocacy; and agency administration.
• Social Services Block Grant

  The Social Services Block Grant funds administered by DSAAPD provide for home and community based services for older persons and adults with physical disabilities who meet specified income guidelines.
• General Funds
  Source: Delaware General Assembly
  
  DSAAPD receives funds from the Delaware General Assembly on an annual basis to support needed home and community-based services; the Delaware Money Management Program; adult protective services; and agency administration.
• Nutrition Services Incentive Program

  The Nutrition Services Incentive Program provides cash support for the meals program funded under Title III of the Older Americans Act.
• Tobacco Settlement Funds

  Tobacco Settlement funds provide support for DSAAPD's Attendant Services Program.
