Services
Although the DHFAC does not necessarily provide direct services to the public, it does serve the Governor and General Assembly by making recommendations for appropriating Delaware Health Fund monies which are a result of the National Tobacco Settlement.
Some of the Delaware Health Fund monies have been allocated for financially supporting the following programs:
- Public Access Defibrillation Program
- Uninsured Action Plan
- Community-based Attendant Services
- Community Health Access Program (CHAP)
- Chronic Disease Diabetes Project
- Substance Abuse Transitional Housing/Heroin Residential Program
- Delaware Prescription Assistance Program
- Tobacco Prevention and Control programs which have participants from:
- the Department of Safety and Homeland Security
- the Department of Education (to train teachers on methods of preventing the use of tobacco among students)
- the Department of Justice
- the Department of Services for Children Youth and their Families
- the Delaware Health and Social Services', Division of Public Health (see also the Tobacco Prevention Program for more information)
