The Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) is the single state agency (SSA) for the State of Delaware. As the SSA, DSAMH is responsible for the following the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan for prevention and treatment in the State of Delaware, as well as the coordination of state and federal funding, and development of standards for the certification and approval of prevention and treatment programs.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), provides funding for DSAMH to implement substance abuse prevention, treatment, and mental health services in the State of Delaware, through grants such as the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SAPT BG) and the Strategic Prevention Framework – State Incentive Grant (SPF-SIG).
