About DSS
Within the Department of Health and Social Services, the Division of Social Services (DSS) is directly responsible for administering these programs: Delaware’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamps, Subsidized Child Care, General Assistance and Refugee Cash Assistance.
DSS is led by the Division Director who is supported by a Deputy Director, Chief Financial Officer and 415 permanent staff. DSS is comprised of three organizational sections: Program and Policy Development, Support Services and Service Delivery.
