Indoor Air Quality:
Lack of Housekeeping

A home that isn’t cleaned regularly can become a breeding ground for house dust mites, pollens, animal dander, and other allergy causing agents. All can cause eye, nose, and throat irritation, shortness of breath, dizziness, drowsiness, and asthma.
What to do:
- Clean and vacuum your home on a regular basis, preferably at least twice each month.
- Highly allergic individuals should leave the house while it’s being vacuumed and may also benefit from allergen-proof mattress encasements.
- A central vacuum system vented to the outdoors or a vacuum with a high efficiency filter may also help.
