Kids Kare
Children are our future. As parents we want to give them the very best start in health and development.
When babies are born too small, too fragile, or develop health or development problems, moms and dads may need extra help to understand the special care that is needed for their child. Kids Kare is a program that provides education and support to families with children who have these needs.
Nurses, nutritionists and social workers provide support and education to parents. Parent education emphasizes the importance of routine and preventive medical care. It helps parents to know:
- When and where to seek medical attention
- When and where to get children immunized
- How to identify signs and symptoms of illness
- What to expect as a child grows and develops
- How to prevent injuries
- How to develop healthy eating practices
- How to strengthen parenting and coping skills
