Location of Non-Custodial Parent (NCP) Services

In order to establish or enforce a child support order, DCSE must know where to find the parent responsible for support. The applicant is our best resource in attempting to locate the non-custodial parent (NCP).

DCSE will attempt to locate the NCP anywhere in the United States. This includes the use of automated locate resources, such as searching the files of the: Division of Motor Vehicle, Department of Labor, Internet, Office of Vital Statistics, and Federal Parent Locator Service. DCSE can also check information that employers report about new hires.

To use the locator service, the custodial parent (CP) must be able to provide the NCP's:

  • Full name
  • Date of Birth
And at least one of the following about the NCP:
  • Other parent's full name and the mother's maiden name
  • Last known address(es)
  • Social security number

The more information provided on the NCP, the greater the chances of successfully locating them. Anytime information is received about an NCP, please contact DCSE to provide a case update.
