Are You a Caregiver?

Do you help an older person or someone with a disability with shopping, food preparation, personal care, chores, household maintenance, transportation, bill paying, or other tasks? Or are you a grandparent (or other older relative) who is raising another person's children?

If so, you are a caregiver and might benefit from one or more of the many resources available through the Delaware Divison of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD).

Research has shown that many people who carry out caregiving activities do not self-identify as caregivers and do not seek out supports that they might need.

If you are a caregiver, you know that your life can be very stressful and that caregiving can impact your own health and well-being. DSAAPD encourages you to visit the Caregiver Information and Support page of this site to learn about the resources for caregivers in Delaware.

For more assistance and information, caregivers are also encouraged to contact the Delaware Aging and Disability Resource Center.
