TANF (WELFARE) SANCTION RULES ARE CHANGING
These rules apply to you beginning November 1, 2006


Current TANF Work Rules:

You must work at a paid job or do other work activity that your Employment Connections Case 
Manager tells you to do for a total of 30 hours each week.

New Sanction Rules:

If you fail to participate in 30 hours of approved work activities each week, YOUR TANF 
CASE WILL BE CLOSED FOR AT LEAST ONE MONTH or until you do what is 
required, whichever is longer.

To Get Your TANF Check Back:

If your TANF case closes, to get your TANF case reopened, you must go to your Employment 
Connections Contractor and complete AT LEAST FOUR WEEKS IN A ROW of full 
participation (30 hours each week) before your TANF benefits can start again.
