Delaware Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) Advisory Council


Meeting Information

The Advisory Council on Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (GAC) serves as the Advisory Council for Delaware's Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC).  The Council is scheduled to meet seven times per year. Summaries of information presented at ADRC Advisory Council meetings are provided below, with the most recent meetings listed first.

March 2, 2010

Meeting Summary:

Division of Services for Aging and Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) staff provided the Council with a presentation about the ADRC project highlights, including information about:

  • the Delaware ADRC Project Forum on January 25, 2010
  • the installation of the ADRC customer call center
  • attendance by DSAAPD staff at a national ADRC conference
  • plans to develop memoranda of understanding with ADRC Lead Partners
  • the upcoming ADRC Lead Partner meeting
  • the upcoming Delaware Lifespan Respite Summit
  • the upcoming semi-annual ADRC progress report

Meeting Summary:

Division of Services for Aging and Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) staff provided the Council with a presentation about the ADRC entitled Delaware ADRC Planning Project Progress Report.


October 6, 2009

Meeting Summary: 

Division of Services for Aging and Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) staff announced that the division recently received a grant award from the Administration on Aging to develop an Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC).  An information packet was distributed to all Council Members. Additionally, it was noted that:

  • Several members of the GAC will serve a s subject matter experts for the ADRC Advisory Council; 
  • Year 1 of the grant award will be the planning stage for the ADRC;
  • Years 2 and 3 will be the implementation stages; 
  • A more comprehensive work plan will be distributed at the November GAC meeting and will also be available on the division website;
  • The ADRC will provide information to anyone in the community on all services in the state, regardless of the individual’s income.  There will also be a call center, accessibility through the internet and walk-in centers.  There will eventually be physical locations and a searchable database; 
  • The division received a letter of support from R. Byers on behalf of the Council;
  • The ADRC will be placed on the council's agenda as a regular standing item.
