About 6.4% said they seldom or never use safety belts, and 13.3% reported that they use seatbelts occasionally.

Adult women in Delaware report using seatbelts more than men. Only 74% of men use seatbelts regularly, compared to almost 86% of women. There were no statistically significant differences in seatbelt use among racial or ethnic groups.

Safety belt use is lowest (71.5%) among young adults in the 18-24 age group and highest (84%) among people over 65. Other age groups are close to the 80% state average.
