Delaware Receives Approval for its State Plan on Aging
The Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) is pleased to announce that it has received approval from the Administration on Aging (AoA) for Delaware's most recent State Plan on Aging.
The plan, which covers the period from October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2012, serves as a contract between the State of Delaware and AoA. It enables Delaware to receive funds under Title III and Title VII of the Older Americans Act in order to provide needed services to older persons in the State.
In addition to fulfilling federal requirements, the State Plan serves as a strategic planning guide for DSAAPD and Delaware's aging network for the next four years. The plan includes goals, objectives and strategies for the coming years along with performance measures, demographic information, and agency budgets.
The plan was developed following a series of focus groups held in Delaware earlier this year. It also reflects priority areas identified in the 2006 Amendment of the Older Americans Act and AoA's Strategic Plan.
Delaware's State Plan on Aging is available in electronic format in the Publications section of this website. (See the "Plans and Other Documents" listing at the bottom of the Publications page.) If you would like a copy mailed to you, please contact DSAAPD's Planning and Program Development Unit .
