Contract Awarded for New Kinship Navigator Program
The Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) has awarded a contract to The Family & Workplace Connection to develop and operate a Delaware Kinship Navigator program.
The purpose of the Delaware Kinship Navigator Program is to assist persons, such as grandparents, who are raising other relatives' children by providing them with information regarding services they may be eligible for as well as supporting them in accessing those services.
The program will feature a toll-free telephone number which grandparents and other caregivers can use to get assistance.
It is expected that the Delaware Kinship Navigator Program will become operational sometime in March 2008.
DSAAPD currently provides a number of other services and supports for grandparents and relative caregivers, including respite programs to give caregivers a needed break. For more information, please visit the Intergenerational Programs section of this web site.
