What are assistive devices and how can I get more information about them?

Assistive devices, also known as assistive technologies, include a wide range of items to help people accomplish various activities of daily living. Assistive devices can be simple or complex. Examples of assistive devices include special magnifiers, grips or handles, wheelchairs and lifts, customized computer software or hardware, and many other items.

Help with assistive technologies in Delaware is provided through Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative (DATI). Follow the links below for DATI contact information in each county.

The Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) has limited funding for assistive devices for persons who meet eligibility requirements. For more information visit the Assistive Devices page of this site or contact the Delaware Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC).
