CARE Delaware Grandparent/Older Relative Caregiver Programs
CARE Delaware provides various services and supports for grandparents and other older relatives raising children, including:
- Caregiver Resource Centers, located throughout Delaware, which provide helpful materials for caregivers, including grandparent and older relative caregivers.
- Respite Options for Relative Caregivers to
provide them with needed breaks from their caregiving responsibilities. These respite programs include:
- Grand Time Off, a respite program that provides limited funding for childcare options;
- Camp Respite, a summer camp program that provides recreation for kids and gives a break to grandparents and other relative caregivers; and
- School Holiday Camp Respite, a camp program, like Camp Respite, offered at various local facilities during winter and spring breaks.
- The Delaware Kinship Navigator Program, which assists grandparents and relative caregivers locate services for themselves and the children that they are raising.
