Healthy Workplaces - Employees - Agriculture and Food Processing

Workers in the agricultural and food processing industries may experience excess risk of specific cancers and other problems. Workers, whether it be on a small farm or in a large processing facility, can be exposed to a variety of hazards, including:

  • Pesticides and fertilizers
  • Solvents and Indsutrial Chemicals
  • Toxics fumes and gases
  • Physical hazards of working with and around equipment and machinery

Workers in the agricultural industry need to be aware of what they are working with and know how to protect themselves and their families.
