For Delaware Residents Age 18 and Older

If you want to quit smoking, the Delaware Division of Public Health offers the Delaware Smoking Quitline – a powerful tool to help adult smokers ready to kick the habit.

Tobacco specialists staffing the Quitline offer several options to help you quit smoking. You can receive helpful tobacco education materials, and personal support sessions. In addition to the toll-free Quitline, the program features assistance from specially trained Delaware pharmacists, and a voucher program to help qualifying low-income participants obtain effective pharmaceutical cessation aids.

This innovative program combines national expertise with local knowledge and service, and is made possible through the Delaware Health Fund.

How the System Works

When you call the Quitline, a tobacco specialist will explore cessation options and assess your needs and the treatment plan best for you. Depending on the results of the initial telephone interview, you may be eligible for any or all of the following:

  • motivational support from a smoking cessation specialist, including follow-up telephone support and quit-smoking workbooks;
  • referral to a local pharmacist trained in smoking cessation;
  • Set Yourself Free: Deciding How To Quit, a guidebook from the American Cancer Society
  • depending on your eligibility, vouchers for pharmaceutical cessation aids, including nicotine patches and gum.
