No, only licensed providers will be able to apply for the grant money. These are the targeted providers. 2) Are there a required number of proposals that must be received? No 3) How do we view the bidder’s experience? The bidders are rated through a rating system, so experience is neither a good or bad thing. 4) Can you disclose who the current vendor is, that currently holds the contract? Yes, the vendor is Children’s and Families First. 5) Since this is a capacity building grant, can money be spent on improving a center? Yes, new providers can use the grant money to start up a center. Other providers may use the money to expand their current center, or improve a particular area of the daycare. Professional development can get grant money from a separate fund. 6) Can the grant money be used to train staff to better care for the children? No, again professional development has a separate fund where they can apply for funds. 7) Is there a minimum amount of revenue that a bidder needs to have? No. 8) Are there any specific underserved areas? Geographically, we would say downstate (Kent & Sussex counties) are the underserved areas. As far as type of care, the underserved areas are children with disabilities, weekend care, or care for kids that are sick. 9) Is there a specific type of provider for the contract? Any provider who holds a license. 10) Are there any upcoming RFP’s? What are they? Yes, they are the Market Rate Survey, and Resource & Referral (Information & Referral) 11) Do we foresee the states budget situation affecting the ERP? There would not be a problem issuing the RFP. 12) Are there a particular number of sites that the grant money has to be issued to? 75% of the awarded money needs to be sent to the providers.
