FIFTH INFLUENZA DEATH IN DELAWARE


Delaware's Division of Public Health reports the fifth flu death statewide of the 2010-2011 flu season occurred March 13 of a 63 year-old woman from Kent County. The individual had underlying health conditions and had been hospitalized.

Certain groups of people are at higher risk of complications from influenza, including people with chronic underlying health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and those who are immune suppressed.
