NOMINATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR YOUTH VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARDS

Award Program Honors Those Who Work To Solve Serious Social Problems In Their Communities


Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 Youth Volunteer Service Awards.

On April 16th, 2008 Governor Ruth Ann Minner will present the Governor’s Youth Volunteer Service Awards to outstanding young people at the Dover Sheraton. More than 300 people will join the Governor at the Dover Sheraton Hotel for a reception and ceremony to honor these young volunteers for their outstanding service to the people of Delaware.

Individuals and groups of young people volunteering in the areas of environment; public safety; education; community service; arts and culture; social justice and health during the 2007 calendar year are eligible.

To request a nomination form call 302-857-5014 or download one by visiting www.VolunteerDelaware.org Nomination packets must be postmarked by February 8, 2008.

The Governor’s Youth Volunteer Service Awards are sponsored by the Office of the Governor, Delaware Health and Social Services, the Division of State Service Centers, the State Office of Volunteerism, the Governor’s Commission on Community and Volunteer Service and the Delaware Department of Education.
