MILFORD TRAUMA CENTER REINSTATED
Delaware's Division of Public Health reinstated Bayhealth Milford Hospital as a provisional level 3 trauma center on Sept. 11 after the hospital re-established 24-hour orthopedic care. The American College of Surgeons will re-asses the hospital's trauma level in one year.
"Delaware has been very successful in creating one of the best trauma systems in the country," said Dr. Jaime Rivera, DPH director. "Bayhealth leadership worked very hard in collaboration with their orthopedic surgeons to make this happen. It's a demonstration of the commitment of all Delaware hospitals to voluntarily take part in our trauma system."
Delaware Health and Social Services is committed to improving the quality of the lives of Delaware's citizens by promoting health and well-being, fostering self-sufficiency, and protecting vulnerable populations.
