FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ENFORCING REGULATIONS THAT PROTECT HEALTH AND SAFETY
In the eighth in a series of ten essential public health services assessments, the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) and public health partners will examine how the public health system enforces laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety for all Delawareans.
Using an assessment tool developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), public health partners will evaluate how well the Delaware public health system:
- Assures that existing and proposed state laws and regulations reflect appropriate public health practices
- Encourages compliance with the health related laws and regulations through education and incentives
- Provides local governing bodies with assistance in developing health related laws and regulations
- Reviews and makes improvements to enforcement procedures
The assessment is scheduled for Wednesday, November 15 at the DPH Training Center in the Blue Hen Corporate Center in Dover beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The public is welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for public testimony via letter or e-mail.
