MACHINE ALLOWS BLIND, VISUALLY IMPAIRED
CITIZENS TO VOTE IN PRIVACY
New Castle –The Division for the Visually Impaired (DVI) will host a demonstration of the ADAM Voting Machine at 2PM, Thursday, November 2, 2006 for Delaware Health and Social Services employees located at the Herman Holloway Campus in New Castle.
The ADAM Voting Machine affords persons with disabilities the opportunity to vote independently. The machine tilts forward for ease of voting for persons using wheelchairs. It has a remote control and speech (with use of head phones for privacy) to afford persons with visual impairments to vote independently without reliance on an election official or family member to cast their votes. Every voting location will be equipped with one ADAM on the November 7th general elections. This demonstration is made possible by the Department of Elections.
