GRANT MONEY AVAILABLE FOR RECOVERY MONTH ACTIVITIES

Groups Invited to Apply for One-Time Funding for Activities Supporting National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month


The 16th annual National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month will be held during the month of September 2005. In support of Recovery Month activities the Division of Substance and Mental Health is making one-time funds available for agencies and organizations providing substance abuse services. Collaborative efforts involving multiple agencies and organizations are encouraged.

DSAMH anticipates making one-time funding available to reimburse a limited number of agencies and organizations that are interested in participating in this annual event. Collaborative activities involving multiple organizations and/or agencies may receive up to $1000 in reimbursement. Activities for a single agency may receive up to $500.

Actual amounts of the awards will vary. For example, $200 may be provided for T-Shirts for an event planned by a single agency, or $1,000 for a large collaborative activity.

  • Who can apply: Community and faith-based agencies presently providing services to substance abuse clients in Delaware.
  • Application review: A designated committee within DSAMH will review applications. Selection will be based on the strength of the application with emphasis on the Recovery Month theme, "Join the Voices for Recovery, NOW!"
  • Application procedure: Applicants must follow the outlined proposal that is attached.

Submission guidelines and instructions: All responses may be forwarded via fax, email or general mail. Delivery is the sole responsibility of the applicant. Notification of Awards: DSAMH anticipates making notification of awards immediately upon receipt and review, until the funds are depleted.
