MEDIA ADVISORY: FLU VACCINE CALL CENTER PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Delaware's Division of Public Health (DPH) invites members of the media to photograph, tape and view the Flu Vaccine Call Center in action at the Blue Hen Corporate Center in Dover on Monday, Nov. 15, 12-12:15 p.m.
Public affairs staff will meet media representatives near the fountain in the center of the mall at 11:45 a.m. The photo opportunity is 12-12:15 p.m. only. No special requests for access to the call center will be honored outside that period.
The media will be permitted to photograph/film call center workers as they receive calls from Kent and Sussex County residents registering to receive flu vaccinations at the statewide clinics Nov. 19. Media representatives WILL NOT be permitted to interview call center staff because they will be busy answering calls. The call center supervisor will be available to respond to questions and tape interviews.
The call center will register eligible Kent and Sussex County residents on Nov. 15 only and New Castle County residents on Nov. 16 only. The call center will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on both days. Callers will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. DPH has approximately 8,000 doses to distribute to individuals in designated high-risk groups at the Nov. 19 clinic. An additional 34,000 doses are scheduled to be delivered to DPH within the next few weeks. A plan for distributing those additional doses is not yet final, but DPH will announce that information as soon as it is available. The phone number to register is 800-282-8672.
