FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT RESOURCE MATERIALS AVAILABLE IN EACH COUNTY
Local Public Libraries House Books
Seventeen publications on the subject of volunteer management are now available at a public library in each county. These books include some of the best and certainly the most current information available on the subject of managing volunteer-based programs. The resources are available at:
- Wilmington Public Library (New Castle County), 10th and Market Streets, Wilmington
- Dover Public Library (Kent County), 45 S. State Street, Dover
- South Coastal Public Library (Sussex County), 43 Kent Avenue, Bethany Beach
The State Office of Volunteerism of Delaware Health and Social Services' Division of State Service Centers supplied the resource materials to assist Delaware libraries in meeting the educational and informational needs of their communities. The State Division of Libraries selected one public library in each county to house the books. "They will answer a true need in our communities, as well as in our libraries," said Kathy Graybeal, Administrative Librarian for the State Division of Libraries.
The State Office of Volunteerism provides statewide leadership for the promotion and encouragement of volunteerism through special events, National Service Programs, and the Delaware Volunteer Resource Center. The Resource Center provides volunteer referral services, technical assistance and resources to those in the field of volunteer management. "We are happy to be able to further support and meet the educational needs of Delaware's volunteer coordinators and managers," said Elisa Diller, Ph.D., Administrator for the State Office of Volunteerism. "There is a growing need for providing new information and resources in the field of volunteerism."
