DHSS' HARRY POOLE TO BE HONORED WEDNESDAY AS "DELAWARE'S HARDEST WORKER"
Delaware Psychiatric Center housekeeper chosen by national "Thanks for Being on the Job" program
Harry Poole, who has been a housekeeper at Delaware Health and Social Services' Delaware Psychiatric Center (DPC), has been chosen as "Delaware's Hardest Worker" by the Benjamin Franklin Plumbing company's national "Thanks for Being on the Job" award program.
"(Poole) has proven to be one of the hardest working, most dependable housekeepers that the Delaware Psychiatric Center has ever employed," said Dr. Brian Simon, Director of Training for DPC's Department of Psychology, who nominated Poole.
Benjamin Franklin Plumbing will photograph Poole as he is presented a framed Certificate of Honor, a commemorative pin, an inspirational book and other prize on Wednesday, August 13, at 1:30 p.m. at DPC. Media representatives are invited to attend. Please contact Allison Taylor Levine, (302) 255-9037, to arrange entry to DPC. Poole's photograph will be posted on the national "Thanks for Being on the Job" website (www.thanksforbeingonthejob.com) along with other winners from around the nation. WSTW and WDEL will interview Poole and Dr. Simon. They also will present Harry with prizes valued at $250.
Poole, who was among nearly 100 Delaware nominees, was selected by a panel of independent judges. Poole has been a housekeeper at DPC since 1971.
The annual "Thanks for Being on the Job" national program is sponsored by Benjamin Franklin Plumbing: The Punctual PlumberTM. The mission of the program is to celebrate and honor everyday people who show up and work hard, who deliver service and demonstrate a strong work ethic, day in and day out.
