DELAWAREANS CALLED ON TO VOLUNTEER ON MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY

Delaware Make A Difference Day is Oct. 25


WHAT IS MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY?

Make A Difference Day is the nation's largest day of volunteering. Millions of Americans will spend Oct. 25 helping others in thousands of projects, such as filling a food closet, building a house, visiting a nursing home, or cleaning up a park. In Delaware, Make A Difference Day is coordinated by Delaware Health and Social Services' State Office of Volunteerism.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

Plan or Choose a Project

Log onto www.makeadifferenceday.com or call 1-800-815-5465 for ideas on starting and registering your own project, or joining one of the registered projects in Delaware.

Pennies for Preparedness

Collect pennies, which will go toward providing starter disaster preparedness kits for 500 low-income seniors throughout Delaware. Start collecting pennies today! Call 1-800-815-5465 for your Pennies for Preparedness action kit.

Support the American Red Cross and the Blood Bank of Delaware/Eastern Shore
  • Volunteer - Support disaster preparedness by volunteering with the American Red Cross, a hospital, fire companies, police departments, or other first responders.
  • Give Blood - Become a member of the Blood Bank of Delaware/Eastern Shore.
