CLEAN INDOOR AIR ACT REGULATIONS HEARING THURSDAY

A public hearing in which the Division of Public Health will receive comment on regulations under Delaware's Clean Indoor Act will be held on Feb. 6, 2003, at 7 p.m. in the Downes Lecture Hall, Terry Building at Delaware Technical & Community College Terry Campus, Dover. The hearing was originally scheduled for last week but was cancelled because the DTCC campus was closed for inclement weather.

The purpose of the hearing is to discuss a proposed definition of private clubs. Members of the public can review the proposed regulations at the CIAA website at http://www.state.de.us/dhss/admin/proposedregs.pdf or call (302) 744-4722 to request a copy. Proposed changes are underlined.

Anyone wishing to present oral comments at the hearing should contact David P. Walton at (302) 744-4700 by 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 5. Attendees also can sign up to speak when they arrive at the hearing.

Because of the delayed hearing, the period for submitting written comments also has been extended until Feb. 7. Anyone wishing to submit written comments as a supplement to or in lieu of oral testimony should submit such comments by Feb. 7 to:

David P. Walton, Hearing Officer
Division of Public Health
P.O. Box 637
Dover, DE 19903-0637.
