NOMINATIONS SOUGHT TO HONOR OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEERS
NEW CASTLE - Individuals and organizations throughout our state volunteer their time, talent, and energy making significant contributions in our communities. Nominations are now being accepted for two award programs that recognize the efforts of these outstanding volunteers; The Governor's Youth Volunteer Service Awards and the Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Awards.
The Governor's Youth Volunteer Service Awards honors the contributions of young volunteers, aged 18 years and younger. Nominations for this program will be accepted through Friday January 21, 2000. The Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Awards recognize the efforts of volunteers of any age. The deadline for this program's nominations is February 1, 2000.
Recipients of these awards will be honored at separate recognition dinners in the spring. To nominate an individual, organization or business, contact the State Office of Volunteerism at 1-800-815-LINK (5465).
These awards are co-sponsored by The Office of the Governor, Governor's Council on Volunteer Services, State Office of Volunteerism, Delaware Community Services Commission, Division of State Service Centers, and Delaware Health and Social Service.
