HEALTH FUND ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO BEGIN MAKING SPENDING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TOBACCO SETTLEMENT MONEY


WHO: The Delaware Health Fund Advisory Committee
WHAT: Meeting to make recommendations on spending priorities

WHERE: Room 108, Arsht Hall, University of Delaware Wilmington Campus, Delaware Avenue
WHY: Delaware is scheduled to receive $775 million over the next 25 years as part of the national tobacco settlement. The 12-member Health Fund Advisory Committee, chaired by Delaware Health & Social Services Secretary Gregg C. Sylvester, M.D., will make recommendations on how to spend the funds to the Governor and General Assembly. Under the guidelines of Senate Bill 8, the money may only be spent for health-related purposes.
