DELAWARE MAKES MORE INFORMATION AVAILABLE ABOUT DRINKING WATER QUALITY
Officials urge Delawareans to look for Water Quality Reports
DOVER - The Office of Drinking Water, an office of the state Division of Public Health, is encouraging consumers to read their water quality reports. The reports, also known as consumer confidence reports, will tell you if any contaminants - even in minute quantities - have appeared in your water over the past year.
The federally mandated reports, which water providers must make available to consumers by Oct. 19, also will explain where the contaminant came from and what the water provider did to solve the problem.
Members of the press are invited to a presentation about the water quality reports and the state's public information campaign surrounding them. At the presentation, officials will illustrate contaminant levels evaluated in the Water Quality Reports by pouring different quantities of food coloring into a fish tank. This demonstration may serve as a good visual for photographs and video.
