UKRAINE VISITOR TO LEARN ABOUT DELAWARE SENIOR PROGRAMS
| WHO: | Irina Beznosko, Project Director of the Ukraine Aging Services Program |

| WHAT: | Visiting Delaware for a living and learning experience of aging issues. She will be briefed by the Department of Health and Social Services on areas such as senior employment and training programs, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Daycare programs, and the Joining Generations Program, a support group for relative caregivers. Ms. Beznosko will also attend a diabetic support group at MOT Senior Center, visit a local nursing home and deliver meals to homebound seniors with the Meals on Wheels program. |
| WHY: | This visit will help Ms. Beznosko gather information that will be useful in establishing an Aging program in the Ukraine. Eleanor Cain, Director for the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities has helped to set up similar programs in Russia and Belarus. Ms. Beznosko is also being briefed by federal agencies in Washington D.C. including the Administration of Aging, AARP, and the Department of Labor. |
