NOMINATE VOLUNTEERS NOW FOR THE 1999 GOVERNOR'S OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARDS

Each day in Delaware, countless individuals and groups volunteer their time, energy, and talent serving the residents of our state. The Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Awards provide an opportunity to recognize, honor, and thank these dedicated volunteers and organizations for all their hard work and efforts.

Do you know any outstanding volunteers or organizations deserving of this award and honor? Nominations are now being accepted for the 1999 Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Awards. These annual awards honor outstanding volunteer achievements by individual citizens, groups, corporations or agencies that have actively engaged in volunteer activities addressing community needs within the State of Delaware.

To nominate a deserving individual or organization, or for more information, contact the State Office of Volunteerism at 1-800-815-LINK (5465). The deadline for submitting a nomination is February 18, 1999. Governor Carper will honor award recipients at a special awards banquet on April 22, 1999 at the Sheraton Inn in Dover.

The 1999 Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Awards are co-sponsored by the Governor's Council on Volunteer Services, the State Office of Volunteerism, and the Delaware Community Services Commission, Division of State Service Centers, Delaware Health and Social Services.

Delaware Health and Social Services is committed to improving the quality of the lives of Delaware's citizens by promoting health and well-being, fostering self-sufficiency, and protecting vulnerable populations.
