MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR DELAWARE'S SENIORS
NEW CASTLE - In honor of Delaware Make A Difference Day on Saturday, October 25, nursing homes across the state will open their doors that day to Delawareans who wish to spend a short amount of time visiting a resident.
Delaware Health and Social Services' Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities is recruiting 1,000 visitors statewide as part of Make A Difference Day. Visitors need spend only half an hour with a resident, but that half hour will make a tremendous difference in the life of that resident. The residents selected for this special program might not otherwise have a visitor that day.
There is no need to call ahead or make a reservation for the program. Visitors will be asked to sign in so that the facilities can keep track of how many people participate. Visiting hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. All visitors are encouraged to bring family members or friends.
