Kent/Sussex Detoxification Center

Established : August 1, 1974
Hours: Business Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Client Service Hours: 24 Hour Facility but referrals encouraged between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and midnight
Purpose: The Kent/Sussex Detoxification Center currently offers administrative and client services by Delaware Health and Social Services (DHSS) division:
  • Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH)
    • Safely detoxifies clients from alcohol and other drugs
    • Conducts assessments to determine treatment need and level of care
    • Refers clients to the to the treatment program(s) that best meets their individual needs.
Directions: Please follow the written directions below to the Kent/Sussex Detoxification Center or use the interactive map provided by Yahoo! Maps [ Yahoo! Maps ] to Ellendale, Delaware.
Please note: The Kent/Sussex Detoxification Center will be NorthEast-East of the Route 113/Route 16 intersection on Route 16

From the North
(Including: Milford and Kent and New Castle Counties)
  1. US Route 13 South (for those coming from North of Dover)
  2. US Route 113 South
  3. Turn Left onto Route 16 East (toward Ellendale)
  4. The Kent/Sussex Detoxification Center is on the Left in the old Ellendale School building

From the South:
(Including: Georgetown and Millsboro)
  1. US Route 113 North
  2. Turn Right onto Route 16 East (toward Ellendale)
  3. The Kent/Sussex Detoxification Center is on the Left in the old Ellendale School building

From the East:
(Including: Lewes and Milton)
  1. Route 16 West
  2. Proceed on Route 16 past the fire house and across railroad tracks
  3. The Kent/Sussex Detoxification Center is one mile ahead on the Right in the old Ellendale School building

From the West:
(Including: Greenwood and Blanchard)
  1. Route 16 East (toward Ellendale)
  2. Proceed on Route 16 past the Route 16/Route 113 intersection, toward Ellendale
  3. The Kent/Sussex Detoxification Center is on the Left in the old Ellendale School building
Parking: Minimal parking for the Kent/Sussex Detoxification Center can be found in the parking lot on site.
