Governor Markell urged Delaware companies, service organizations, community groups and individual citizens
to sign up for a Better Delaware Weekend of Service volunteer project. This video captures the spirit
and character of the week-long series of events.
Nominate an Outstanding Volunteer
Nominations are now being accepted for the Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Awards. Eligible
nominees include individuals or groups where participants are 18 years old or older. Individuals and groups
must be engaged in volunteer activities addressing community needs within the state of Delaware during
the 2008 calendar year. Nominees may not nominate themselves or be nominated by a family member. Previous
winners (individuals or groups) are not eligible for three years. Nominees .

Nominations must be postmarked or received by July 20, 2009. Nominations will not be accepted
after this date.
