Serve Delaware recruits and supports thousands of individuals to improve the lives of Delawareans by providing life-changing service opportunities that focus on economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, educational achievement, and disaster services among others.
AmeriCorps is a national network of programs that engages nearly 85,000 Americans each year in service to meet critical needs in education, the environment, public safety, homeland security, and other areas. Established in 1993, AmeriCorps is housed within the federal agency of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).

The State Office of Volunteerism (SOV) is Delaware's primary resource for volunteerism and national service. SOV provides statewide leadership for the promotion and encouragement of volunteerism to persons of all ages, and coordinates a variety of volunteer events.
The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is a federal agency that engages more than five million Americans in service through Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America, and leads President Obama's national call to service initiative, United We Serve.
