Physical Activity for Healthy Aging
You are invited to participate in Walk Delaware and many other fitness activities to enjoy the benefits of healthy, active aging.
Walk Delaware
The Delaware Senior Olympics, in partnership with the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD), is challenging Delaware seniors to stay active and walk more. The challenge is simple. Throughout the year, commit to walking the length (96 miles) and/or width (35 miles) of Delaware for a total of 131 miles. Though this may sound daunting, it can be accomplished with a walk of less than a 1/2 mile per day. The program is flexible and can be tailored to meet individual needs or activity levels, from beginner to experienced fitness levels. Best of all, you can do this activity anytime or anywhere - at home, in your neighborhood, at a local senior center, park or recreation area.
