Walk Delaware
You're Invited!
... to join Walk Delaware and enjoy the benefits of healthy, active aging. The Delaware Senior Olympics, in partnership with the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities, is signing up more Delaware seniors every month for this exciting year-round, non-competitive fitness program. To date, nearly 5,000 seniors have joined. The challenge is simple. Throughout the year, commit to walking the length (96 miles) and/or width (35 miles) of Delaware for a total of 131 miles! Though this may sound daunting, it approximates a daily walk of less than a 1/2 mile per day! The program is flexible and can be tailored to meet individual needs or activity level, from beginner to experienced fitness levels. Best of all, you can do this activity anytime or anywhere - at home, in your neighborhood, at a local senior center, park or recreation area.
To support your fitness efforts, Walk Delaware Logbooks are available for recording your progress and receiving recognition awards through the Delaware Senior Olympics. Together, we are committed to helping Delaware seniors stay active and make physical activity a part of their daily lifestyle. Isn't it about time that you participated in this fitness activity?
