Delaware's State Plan on Aging Approved

The Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) is pleased to announce that it has received approval from the Administration on Aging for Delaware's most recent State Plan on Aging. The State Plan covers the period from October 1, 2004 to September 30, 2008.

The Plan includes budget information and various assurances, as required by law, and also describes new objectives that DSAAPD plans to undertake with funds from Title III and Title VII of the Older Americans Act. Objectives are presented in the following areas: access to services and supports; health and wellness promotion; support to caregivers; elder rights protection; and management responsiveness. These objectives were developed based on feedback received during a series of focus groups held earlier this year.

The approval of the Plan enables the State to continue providing a variety of services for older Delawareans such as home-delivered meals; congregate meals; adult day services; respite care; legal services; personal care; health promotion; and other valuable programs.

The State Plan on Aging is available in electronic format in the Publications section of this website. If you would like a copy mailed to you, please contact DSAAPD's Planning and Program Development Unit .
