How can I get help in caring for someone if I need a break?

If you are caring for someone and you need a break, you can take advantage of a service known as "respite".  Respite services are provided by most home health agencies.  You can check a local phone book for an up-to-date listing of home health agencies in your area.

The Division of Servies for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilites (DSAAPD) provides funding for respite care services.  For more information and eligibility requirements, see the Respite Care listing in the Services section of our website.

Another service option for persons who need help in caring for someone is adult day services.  Adult day service centers provide a range of activities and a safe environment for persons who need care and assistance.  For more information, please see the various adult day services options listed in the Services section of our website.
