Delaware Oral Health 2014 Implementation Project


The Division of Public Health, Bureau of Oral Health and Dental Services (BOHDS), has been preparing to undertake a major revision of the state’s Oral Health Plan. The outcome of this process will be a comprehensive five-year plan that will address the oral health needs of all Delawareans to achieve optimal oral health. This project is made possible with a grant from the DentaQuest Foundation.

On Friday, November 22, 2013, BOHDS held its first Delaware Oral Health Systems Improvement Plan meeting at Dover Downs Conference Center. The purpose of this meeting was to gather key proponents for oral health, to participate in our planning process over the next several months.Over 25 key stakeholders from various health organizations were in attendance. The next planning meeting will be held on December 6th at Dover Downs.


On Friday, December 6, 2013, BOHDS held its second Delaware Oral Health Systems Improvement Plan meeting at Dover Downs Conference Center. The purpose of this meeting was to develop a vision for the State Oral Health Plan. Over 28 key stakeholders from various health organizations were in attendance. The next planning meeting will be held on January 10th at Dover Downs.


On Friday, June 6, 2014, a diverse group of more than 50 key stakeholders came together for the Delaware Oral Health 2014 Summit. This event marked the next phase of this process: the Delaware Oral Health 2020 Initiative.
