What To Do If You Find a Dead Bird
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) encourages individuals who find dead crows, blue jays or birds of prey to call the Mosquito Control Section , Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the following numbers:

The public should report only sick or dead crows, blue jays, hawks or owls, or localized clusters of five or more sick or dead wild birds of any species. For dead birds, specimens should appear to have been dead for less than 24 hours and not killed by other obvious causes. Residents should wear gloves and avoid direct skin contact when handling dead birds.
