Indoor Air Quality:
Plants

Plants

Pollen from flowering plants can irritate the eyes, noses, and ears. Some plants are also toxic to children and animals. Plant debris, such as dead leaves, can contribute to dust, while over-watered plants could encourage the growth of fungus.

What to do:

  • If you have allergies, be sure to choose plants that don’t flower and keep dead leaves trimmed.
  • If you have small children and pets, choose plants that won’t harm them if ingested.
  • Don’t over-water, and keep an eye out for mold.
