Excess Water
Moisture and humidity provide a breeding ground for this terrible trio: mold, mildew, and mites. All can induce or aggravate asthma as well as cause eye, nose, and throat irritation, shortness of breath, dizziness, drowsiness, and fever.
What to do:
- Be sure to fix plumbing, roof, and window leaks right away, and repair your basement if it is damp or if you see standing water.
- Use exhaust fans and a dehumidifier if necessary.
