DELAWARE RURAL HEALTH INITIATIVE
The Delaware Rural Health Initiative (DHRI) includes representatives from the Division of Public Health (DPH) and the three southern hospital systems: Bayhealth Medical Center, Beebe Medical Center and Nanticoke Memorial Health System. The DHRI was created as a collaborative vehicle for addressing shared regional health concerns in a more coordinated manner. The goals of the Delaware Rural Health Initiative are to:
- Establish a mission to carry a single voice for issues affecting rural Delawareans,
- Expand membership and the value derived from membership,
- Increase visibility of the new entity throughout the state, and
- Strengthen credibility through promoting and completing a collaboratively designed agenda of local initiatives and advocacy.
The Delaware Rural Health Plan Report - June 2000 was designed to present an organized and strategic approach to improving the health of Sussex County residents.
